I’m in the process of finishing my kitchen renovation. It’s a very small kitchen but has beautiful white cabinets with a black counter top and other black or white accessories. Even though it’s a small galley type kitchen the end wall is very plain with no cabinets. I’ve wondered about what to do with that wall and I’ve decided to add a most unusual wall decor. I’m going to add an oversized black wall clock with floating dial (the wall is the background of the clock). I think it will add a surprise bold look to this small kitchen and really become an important part of my decor.
Clocks are an important part of your decor from more than a visual perspective. If you like the bold ticking of a clock in a quiet room that can add a feeling of warmth and comfort for many people. This can be a nice addition to a room with a fireplace where you will hear the crackle of a fire and the ticking of a clock on those cold winter nights as you relax in front of the fire. The chime can be very musical or more subdued. Many chiming clocks can have their chimes turned off at night.
You will probably own the clock you choose for a long time and it may even become a family heirloom. It can be a beautiful traditional clock for your mantel or a bold artistic clock created by one of the really fabulous clock artists. These clocks, functional art, are available in styles of sleek modern silver and glass to funky whimsical styles to vibrantly colored three dimensional sculpture and are sure to be a focal point in your decor.
An area that is frequently overlooked for the addition of a clock is your garden patio, porch or deck. The beautiful styles of outdoor clocks include wall mounted clocks of bronze or other material, post mounted old fashioned street style clocks, double sided clocks mounted perpendicular to your wall and even sundial style clocks. Some styles include temperature and humidity dials as well.
